A Day At The Races
If you are heading to Taranaki for business or pleasure, it is packed with many unique experiences, many are highlighted on the 101 Must Do’s List issued by the Venture Taranaki, the regional development agency.
Located on the west coast of the North Island, the region offers something unique for visitors including surfing off the coast one day and ascending the mountain the next.
If you’re looking for another type of sport, why not the Sport of Kings, horse racing. Pukekura Raceway is located centrally in New Plymouth, and offers a range of race day experiences. Pack a picnic, and enjoy a day in the sunshine, or a full hospitality package in the members lounge. There are usually 8 races per race day, which allow you to enjoy the races but also chat with locals for their tips, and wonderful racing stories. Dress code is smart casual, but you won’t be out of place in race day attire.
Pukekura Raceway hosts 16 race days a year, so check their website to check if there is one while you’re in town. It’s a great day out filled with heart-stopping action, entertainment, and fun, tied up with Taranaki hospitality!
