Day Nineteen – Elfie, what a star! Lots of present wrapping at the wrapping station, photos of presents under the teepee coming soon.
Day Eighteen – Great time for a clear out, I donated items too, and Elfie hung out with H #seewhatididthere
Day Sixteen – Elfie is hanging out with his sweetheart, and Hart got another Little Christmas Character to open, a cute sleigh.
Day Fifteen is another choose dinner deal for Hart, he chose the new Create Your Own option at McDonalds. My verdict – it’s expensive, food is still from McDonalds, and I would rather spend the money on decent meals at the supermarket. Elfie was obviously into mischief with the lights, and there is little progress on the puzzle – next time I need to make it first, then put the pieces in the bags in order.
Day Fourteen is a special day, Hart wrote a card to the Safyre Terry, a young burn victim who has asked for people to send her Christmas cards from all over the world. He sent her one of his calendar art cards which has a picture of him and his art on the front. We hope she loves it.
Day Thirteen was my birthday, so Elfie looked after my bubbles for me. Hart and I were meant to watch a movie, but the birthday celebrations when on a bit too long so we watched it on the 15th ‘Elf’ is such a great Christmas movie.
Day Twelve is all about Christmas Popcorn. Elfie was hanging out in the pantry with the ingredients, and fortunately that tied in with the Activity Advent, and the bottom is the finished product. Popped corn, with white chocolate, and 100s and 1000s. I remembered after we had finished that it’s meant to be red and green pebbles/smarties but Hart didn’t notice so all good.
Day Eleven, and we’re creeping closer to half way. Elfie was on the green tree, which this year is in the dining room and features newly bronzed stars. The Goodie Hart opened was a Star Wars Micro Fighter.
Day 9 sees Elfie having out in the the table setting, with my newly sprayed baubles #onceweresilver, the Activity Advent is a present for his teacher. We gave him a Christmas mug. H helped with the wrapping, chose and tied the ribbon, and the gift card.
Hartleigh has four Advent Calendars this year, and before you think that’s a bit OTT, it may be, but there’s no Advent police running around dictating how many you can have, thankfully!
So he has the usual ‘chocolate-a-day’ one, and he has two ‘build-a-bit-each-day’ calendars – one is a Star Wars 100 piece jigsaw, and the other is a Minecraft Lego creation, his fourth and final is our traditional Activity calendar. For this, I have usually completed all the activities before the start of the month, but this year it’s a bit of a moving beast as I’m making some last minute changes depending on things that are happening.
The first day of December saw the return of our Elf On A Shelf. I had hoped to have him wired by now, but time got away from me and firstly I couldn’t find my wire so I had to buy some, then I needed a quick unpick, which my sister dropped off to me this morning. but I also need a needle to sew him back up. Went to Spotlight today, forgot to get one! So I’m going to wait until the weekend now.
Anyway, here are today’s calendars (I won’t be posting a pic of each calendar each day – the Builders will be every few days when there is something to show, and for the Activity if it’s simple I’ll just post a pic of the card, if it’s ‘something’ then I’ll include that).
